PG16- Tamlin (some x,some v)
Sorry, no data yet.
Tamlin is a delightful retelling of the fairy tale about the youth who was taken by the fairy queen and given as tribute to hell. Only the pure love and determination of a maiden could save him from his fate. This time, however, the youth Thomas and the maiden Janet are college students in the 70's, the fairy queen is a professor, and nothing is at all what it seems as Janet finds college to be a bit more exciting than she bargained for. The story is well told and has very few of those disjointed spots that plague so many adaptations. The setting of the college and the realism of the secondary characters help ground the plot and make the tale even more delightful. Though the timing is a bit skewed and seems to mostly skip over Janet's sophomore and junior years, that does not generally detract from the story as a whole. This novel is certainly worth reading if you enjoy college stories or urban fantasy.
